Shooting stops Oklahoma high school football game between Del City and Choctaw
CHOCTAW — An apparent shooting suspended play Friday night during the season-opening high school football game between Del City and Choctaw.
With 3:56 left in the third quarter and Del City leading 34-25, multiple gun shots were heard on Skordle’s broadcast of the game. Players and officials were seen running off the field, while others laid down on the field and in the stands.
The announcer said, “Everybody get down.”
At about 10:40 p.m., officials at Choctaw asked fans to leave the stadium and head for their vehicles.
